Arizona WBGT rules for high school sports.
Arizona uses Region 3 on-site WBGT bands with stricter limits during the first 14 practice days. PracticeCast defaults to that safer phase.
What coaches need to know
- WBGT is checked on the playing surface every 30 minutes and monitoring is documented.
- During practice days 1–14, modification bands begin at 79.8, 84.7, 87.7, and 89.8°F WBGT.
- Beginning day 15, bands begin at 82.1, 87.0, 90.1, and 92.0°F WBGT.
- Higher bands add breaks, cap practice at 2 hours then 1 hour, remove equipment, prohibit conditioning, and stop outdoor workouts.
- Aquatic in-water activity is excepted; dry-land aquatic training follows the table.
