Current LHSAA Sports Medicine chart · last source review

Louisiana WBGT rules for high school sports.

Louisiana's LHSAA chart uses three WBGT categories. Confirm your school's assigned category; PracticeCast defaults to the most conservative Category 3.

What coaches need to know

  • Category 3 bands begin at 82.2, 87.1, 90.1, and 92.1°F WBGT.
  • Category 2 bands begin at 79.9, 84.7, 87.8, and 89.8°F WBGT.
  • Category 1 bands begin at 76.3, 81.1, 84.2, and 86.2°F WBGT.
  • Higher bands progressively add rest, cap practice at 2 hours then 1 hour, restrict football equipment, and prohibit outdoor workouts in the highest band.
  • The official chart does not map an address to a category, so schools must confirm their assigned category.
