Current statewide guidance · last source review

Missouri WBGT rules for high school sports.

Missouri requires districts to use an on-site WBGT procedure above 80°F ambient temperature and publishes five statewide activity bands.

What coaches need to know

  • Under 82°F WBGT: three 3-minute breaks each hour.
  • 82.0–86.9°F: three 4-minute breaks and close monitoring.
  • 87.0–89.9°F: maximum 2 hours, four breaks per hour, football equipment limits, and competitions delayed or canceled.
  • 90.0–92.0°F: maximum 1 hour, 20 minutes of rest, no conditioning, and no football protective equipment.
  • Over 92°F: no outdoor participation.
